No, not that Charizard—but don’t tell him that. He already thinks he’s a mythical fire-breathing dragon, and honestly… he’s not far off.

This blazing orange boy was custom-made in nature’s most fabulous forge—selectively bred for a color so bright, even traffic cones are jealous. Charizard didn’t just show up, he arrived. And he’s been turning heads ever since.

We got him after a very dramatic call from Animal Control. Someone reported a “venomous lizard” in their yard, clearly having watched the movie Holes one too many times (spoiler alert: the “venomous” lizards in that movie? Yup—bearded dragons in makeup). Charizard was out there just being his flamboyant, misunderstood self.

Now safely with us, he spends his days exactly how you’d expect a dragon superstar to: front and center in his enclosure, striking poses, soaking up praise, and basking—both in heat lamps and the adoration of his fans. His personality is as loud as his color and twice as charming.

Whether you’re a reptile rookie or a seasoned herper, one thing’s for sure: Charizard will light up your life (and then stare at you like a supermodel on a Vogue cover).
